NOTS are delighted to be offering a first-of-its-kind, 6-day course – Introduction to Organic Cut Flower Production in 2024. Taught on site at Bell Meadow Flowers, Co. Carlow, this will be a practical course on establishing a cut flower garden business.
Beginning on April 6th, join flower grower and designer Maria Ryan along with organic market gardener and teacher Paula Pender for this comprehensive, six-day introduction to cut flower production.
The course will provide training and advice on how to design and establish a cut flower garden for both the home gardener and those wishing to establish a successful cut flower business.

- Cost: €300 when you sign up through NOTS. This is a massive 40% reduction on the full course price
- Eligibility for Funding:
- Participants can only pay the reduced rate of €300 through NOTS if they fulfil both of our eligibility criteria:
- Participant must be resident in Ireland, and
- Participant must be employed or self-employed in any sector (this includes part time workers)
The course will have lots of practical tips on site design, succession sowing and planting, protected cropping production, organic methods of pest, disease & weed control, crop cultivation & planning, selecting suitable varieties, flower harvest techniques and also natural flower arranging. In addition this course will provide up to date information on cut flower market outlets, pricing and the financial side of setting up and running a cut flower business.
