Gain in-depth knowledge about the production of biochar with this interactive, 1-day workshop at the farm of Kim McCall, a practising producer of biochar on his farm in Calverstown, Co Kildare. Kim will teach you about the production of biochar in a hands-on manner – you will take part in a controlled “burn” creating biochar on the day. Mr McCall will talk through the procedure, and his experience of biochar, as well as the benefits he has found on his farm.

What Is Biochar?
Biochar is a form of charcoal used as a soil amendment. Though similar in appearance, it differentiates from charcoal that is used for fuel, and is far more beneficial to the environment.
