Farm Wall Dry Stone Wicklow Workshop

National Organic Training Skillnet (NOTS) in conjunction with The Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland (D.S.W.A.I) are hosting a number of workshops for farmers, to encourage & give hands on practical advise on how to maintain, repair & build dry stone walls.

Date: Please note the course has been postponed from April 21st to SAT MAY 26TH (Due to wet weather/boggy site)

Location: Geoff Kennedy’s Farm, Glencullen, Wicklow

Directions: Brockey Lane, Glencullen Bridge, Kilternan, Co. Dublin

Meeting place: Workshops will be signposted from Glencullen village on the day

Senior tutor: Eddie Farrelly

Tutors: Karl Kennedy, Kevin Carrigan & Scott Noble

Level: Beginner/Intermediate (all are welcome)

Duration: 1 day

Time: 9.15 am to 5pm

Cost: NOTS are providing 25% funding for this course for employees or self-employed participants residing in Republic of Ireland. Full cost of the course is €87 less 25% Skillnet funding if eligible which leaves the cost at €65pp payable directly to NOTS.

Included: lunches, teas/coffees. A year free membership of DSWAI is included in fees (see benefits of DSWAI membership below)

Number of places: Please note this course can only hold a 20 (max). Places will be limited and will be served as a first come first served bases. Therefore, places will only be guaranteed through NOTS once payment in full has been received.

NOTE: Be sure to bring sturdy safety shoes and outdoor clothing to protect you from rain and cold.  Safety gloves will be provided.

A short presentation will be given on the day covering dry stone walling history and techniques.
