Dry Stone Farm Wall Workshop – Sligo (April)

 

National Organic Training Skillnet (in association with the Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland – DSWAI) are hosting a 1-day Dry Stone Wall workshop featuring hands-on, practical advice on how to maintain, repair & build dry stone walls.

Level: Beginner/Intermediate (all are welcome)

Duration: 1 day / 8 hours

Time: 9.15am to 5pm

Course Features / Topics:

  • Hands on training on how to maintain and repair your walls
  • Learn the basic skills of dry stone walling
  • Information on grants for walls
  • How to face the stone
  • The benefits of walls on the farm
  • Retaining and double sided walls
  • Promoting an awareness of the craft of dry stone building in Ireland

Cost: €75 (Full price = €97 less 25% Skillnet funding if eligible)

Included: lunches, teas/coffees. A year free membership of DSWAI is included in fees (see benefits of DSWAI membership below)

Number of places20 (max). Places will be limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis.

NOTE: Bring sturdy safety shoes and outdoor clothing to protect you from rain and cold.  Safety gloves will be provided.
