NOTS & The Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland are hosting a Dry Stone Wall Weekend Workshop on Clare Island, Co Mayo on the last weekend of June (Friday 28th – Sunday 30th).
Participants can gain practical knowledge of the craft of dry stone wall building while experiencing the unique atmosphere of island life over a packed summer weekend on the West Coast. Learn how to build, maintain, and repair dry stone walls with experts from the DSWAI.

Clare Island (Co Mayo) is located at the mouth of Clew Bay, south of Achill Island on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Access to Clare Island is relatively easy. Two regular ferry services operate in the summer months. Departure is from Roonagh Pier which is close to Louisburgh in Mayo. Louisburgh is approximately a 20 minute drive from Westport.
Workshop Location: The workshop is within walking distance from the island’s Community Centre, restaurants, and accommodation. The cottage hub where the wall building will take place is available during the workshop and will provide lunch (included in workshop registration fee) and toilet facilities.
