Job Seekers Support Programme in Meat Processing

What about a career in the Meat Processing Industry!!!

The National Organic Training Skillnet seeks suitable candidates to take part in a FREE training course on meat processing.  Currently there is a demand in Ireland for suitably trained meat processing employee’s, this demand is coming from meat processing factories, multiple retails with butcher counters and small independent butcher shops.

Until recently many of these outlets have trained their staff in-house.  However with such high demand for produce many employers are looking to recruit suitably trained staff. With this in mind the National Organic Training Skillnet has developed a program of training to reskill unemployed candidates with the relevant skills required to fill many of these vacant positions.

If you are hard-working and willing to learn a new skill, then why not apply for this course and start your road to re-employment.

·       The course start date is the 5th of October 2015.

·       The completed programme will offer a certificate in meat processing through City & Guilds.

·       The course will focus on practical meat cutting skills and understanding the cutting techniques, carcase yield and the importance of knife skills.

·       Training will take place outside Roscommon town.

·       Suitable candidates will be required to attend for an interview as places are limited.

·       The course is free to the unemployed, see link to eligibility criteria http://www.skillnets.ie/eligibility-criteria-unemployed-people

·       The training programme will be approximately 500 hours, comprising of 50% training and 50% work placement, the work experience must be fully completed to gain qualification.

·       Trainees will be offered placement in either a factory or retail setting, ( To date many companies have suggested that they have jobs coming on stream for suitably trained individuals)
